Grabbarna Flytt is a moving company started in 2015 as a side gig for the founders, while they were still studying at university. Three guys started off helping friends and family move, simply because they enjoyed lifting heavy objects. The guys’ attitude of always being ready to go the extra mile when help was in need, coupled with their ability to never lose the smiles on their faces even when faced with broken elevators in apartment buildings, created an increase in demand.

One day when the three founders were unscrewing lightbulbs, another one lit up — people were tired of inflexible old-timey moving services and were pleasantly surprised by the guys’ willingness to attend to everything and anything that needed sorting out in a move. Soon, there were so many vying for their services, that even the founders’ strong arms weren’t up to the task. Grabbarna Flytt needed additions to their team. Today, Grabbarna Flytt is comprised of circa 100 employees and the operation just keeps on growing.

Grabbarna Flytt has developed into a well-established moving and logistics company with customers all around Europe, and offices in both Helsinki and Stockholm. However, one thing has not changed – Grabbarna Flytt is still a bunch of guys and girls ready to sort out whatever they’re faced with.
Grabbarna Flytt was founded when three childhood friends decided to revolutionize the moving and service industry in Helsinki, Finland. After getting resounding positive feedback from helping friends and family move, the boys realized they could take their moving prowess to the next level. They decided to found the company and started moving projects using only three pairs of hands and rented vans and trailers. Grabbarna Flytt’s first official move took place in January 2015 and they continued with around 40 moves over the course of the year.
We count 2016 as Grabbarna Flytt’s first official fully operational year. The three pairs of hands weren’t able to respond to the growing demand. Therefore, we decided to recruit even more strong hands from our pool of friends and fellow students at Hanken Svenska Handelshögskolan in Helsinki. which had no shortage of young, engaged, and diligent workers excited to lift heavy objects, package thoroughly, and of course, earn a euro or two. Today, we see the year 2016 as the breakthrough year, when the company was developed from an idea to a fully-fledged reality. Rumours of the business started spreading and demand increased exponentially. The total amount of moves rose from tens to hundreds. The successful year was rounded off by the monumental investment in Grabbarna Flytt’s first own moving truck, “The Pösö”, which was quickly painted in the company’s colors and splayed with the official logo.
If there is one word to describe Grabbarna Flytt’s focus in 2017, it’s growth and more growth. For the first time, we recognized we’d created something that garnered interest among customers and our own employees. Grabbarna Flytt became a workplace where young people and especially students thrived. The brand also grew. Grabbarna Flytt started to become associated with influencers and subsequently gained much-welcomed visibility, especially on social media. Exposure from Kenza Zouiten’s Youtube vlog and other social media, set in motion the cogs in the rumor mill - Grabbarna Flytt were heading westward to conquer the dear neighboring country, starting with Stockholm. In 2017, the company started to make moves in Stockholm and plans were hatched to open up in Stockholm as soon as possible.
After a strong 2017 with growth around 250%, Grabbarna Flytt were ready for a Stockholm expansion. In February 2018, we officially started our operations in Stockholm with Kungsholmen as our home base. Stockholm was a success due to the aforementioned talk around town and demand was ripe. The operations in both Helsinki and Stockholm made many new projects possible and laid the foundation for creating something even larger.
2019 was the year when Grabbarna Flytt took a step back when it came to growth, in order to properly focus on building the right processes and finding its way back to its core values - making moving easy and fun. Over the course of the year, we developed many new systems for both internal and external purposes. The year came to be the company’s most challenging year with various setbacks, that nonetheless were overcome with swiftness and due diligence, resulting in the most rewarding year to date. Sometimes it’s necessary to take a reflective step back, especially as we are convinced that the new decade is ours for the taking.
During the year 2020, Grabbarna Flytt grew in many ways. The changes made in 2019 really paid off and the company continued to grow. Grabbarna acquired a new, much bigger office in beautiful Lauttasaari, Helsinki. Own storage facilities were also added to the services in Helsinki. Even if the unexpected coronavirus affected many companies negatively, did Grabbarna survive without any bigger problems. The beginning of the year was better than good for Grabbarna Flytt and the operations in Stockholm continued to grow rapidly. Many new partners were found during the year 2020, at the same time as the amount of guys and girls doubled. Thus, the new decade started amazingly for Grabbarna Flytt!
The previous years’ success continued in 2021. Grabbarna Flytt grew even more, both in Helsinki and Stockholm, as the growth in Finland was about 60%, whereas the growth in Sweden was as much as 130%. The services offered expanded in both countries, as move-out cleaning joined the service family. A new and much bigger office in Stockholm and the increased amount of guys and girls, enabled many new interesting projects. Also, development of automation processes started, so that Grabbarna Flytt has the possibility to offer even better services to the customers in the future!
